This is a Tibetan Prayer Wheel with a difference. It is solar powered. The prayer is written on a piece of paper inside and some people believe that through rotation, the prayer is “sent to Heaven, or wherever”, in the same was as prayer flags that flap in the wind (see below). But can this really work ? Isn’t the act of praying the important thing, not the prayer itself ? I like this machine a lot but it reminds me of people who paid other people whilst they were away on holiday to play Pokemon Go on their behalf or to buy products in Starbucks so that they wouldn’t lose their Gold Status !!! What is your view on this ? Can robots pray on our behalf so that we can reap the benefit of prayer without having to do the groundwork ? And what should we pray for ? Results to be achieved or giving thanks for results already achieved?
