Have you ever noticed how people are obsessed with the weather ? In England this seems to be particularly prevalent. Maybe it’s because of the propensity for the weather to change so quickly and to become “bad” at any moment, or maybe it is because of English politeness and avoidance of more controversial topics of conversation. With the advent of smartphones, the weather seems to have gained even more control over peoples’ lives. Recently with a friend, I commented on the lovely warm sunshine outside. His response was to consult his phone and say “It can’t be. The weather forecast says it’s raining.” Which version of reality is true for you ?
