Attachment

“Attachment is a cause of suffering”. Every Buddhist learns this and it applies to everyone else aswell. Being able to let go is a powerful ability that can help us to ease stress and anxiety. “Never mind” comes to mind in a few languages. It doesn’t mean that we are weak and incapable and have given up on something. More that we have the strength of our own convictions to know when something is not worth pursuing. Do you allow your happiness to be dictated by other people, objects or situations ? The practise of non-attachment is a difficult one but the potential benefits are enormous. The danger of trying too hard is the risk of becoming attached to non-attachment, and hence defeating the object !
