Smudging

Smudging is the ancient practice of burning wood or herbs in order to “clear the air”. It creates a nice grounded feeling in a space and is said to be able to drive away negative energy and spirits, and even to cleanse bacteria. My favourite things to use are Palo Santo (a sacred wood from South America) and Sage (the large, dried leaves of the herb). Even Roman Catholics do it using Frankincense.
