I stopped by the roadside in a remote mountainous region of Thailand and asked this man what he was collecting and putting in his pickup. He told me they were nice berries that are edible. I had never seen these before. He ate some them offered some to me.
Basic education says “never accept sweets from a stranger”. That is, until you have the confidence and experience to make your own judgements.
